This is the biggest sensation for HOSOKAWA ALPINE since its foundation in 1898. The company's division "Minerals & Metals" sold a limestone grinding system to a mining company in Algeria. The order value: 8.3 million euros and thus the largest single order in the company's history.
Transport with a break-bulk ship
The transport of this order volume turned out to be quite a challenge. Machine components of up to 18 metres in length cannot simply be transported in conventional standard-size containers. For such oversize dimensions, break-bulk ships are the best solution. Goods can be transported with these ships which cannot be loaded into standard containers or flat racks.
A total of seven partial shipments were made with transport times of up to 4 weeks and a transport distance of around 21,000 kilometres.
Altogether, 153 TEUs – in other words 308 tonnes – were shipped. The transport was effected by the forwarding and logistics company Panalpina.
HOSOKAWA ALPINE – leading technology supplier in the field of process technology
Besides its 120th anniversary this year, the company can look back on 30 years of membership in the Hosokawa Micron Group. Today, the group of companies is the global market leader in the field of powder and particle processing and counts among the leaders on the sector of blown film processing.
